Objectives of the course

Studying this subject, student will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of rhetoric, i.e. in speech, expression, communication and literacy. Based on the acquired knowledge, the student will be able to optimally overcome the level of rhetoric and literacy in accordance with legal education and occupation.

Acquired knowledge

Students’ ability to make an argumentative debate, also for public appearance, and for correct use of language in law.

Content of the subject

Communication and types (officially, in writing); elements of communication; ethics in achieving the goals of communication; the term rhetoric; elements, traits, language, breathing, mimics, gestures; types of speech; speech structure; prepared speeches; improvisations; acquiring the attention of listeners; public appearance; performance in the media; debate; dialogue.

Teaching methods and material mastering

Lectures, exercises, consultations, written examinations (colloquiums) individual student work (seminar and homework, papers, etc.), as well as group participation of students in the study of certain thematic units.
