Starting the implementation of the DEMOS project
Representatives of the Faculty of Law in Lukavica, PhD Milica Kolaković-Bojović and Sanja Mandić, MA participated at the introductory conference that began the implementation of the project Democrat Efficacy and Varieties of Populism (DEMOS) held on December 6 and 7, 2018 in Budapest. The DEMOS project is part of the HORIZON 2020 program funded by the European Union, and is implemented by a consortium comprised of 15 European universities, institutes and civil society organizations, led by the Center for Social Sciences – the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The value of the project is 3 million EUR, and its implementation will last three years (36 months). The DEMOS project examines the challenges associated with populism through the lens of democratic efficiency. Multidisciplinarity in the approach to this phenomenon, as well as its ability to be perceived from the perspective of many European countries whose legal and cultural heritage, geopolitical and macroeconomic situation differ significantly, makes it a unique challenge for the experts involved in the implementation, as well as the enormous potential for contributing to modern theoretical understanding of the relationship of populism and democratic efficiency.
