Objectives of the course
Developing scientific knowledge, academic skills and practical abilities to realize and protect copyrights and industrial property rights, both nationally and internationally, as well as mastering methods, procedures and research processes in this specific and dynamic legal matter.
Students can successfully: 1) understand the genesis, structure and nature of copyright and related rights; 2) recognize the importance of adequate protection of copyright and related rights; 3) find out the basic principles of acquiring, exercising and protecting copyright and related rights; 4) practically applies acquired knowledge in the field of copyright and related rights.
Content of the subject
The concept, development and sources of copyright and industrial property law; conditions and procedure for the protection of the invention; the subject of protection and the rights of inventors; types of patents; content of rights and restrictions of patent rights; termination of patent right; topography of integrated circuits; legal protection of plant varieties; the content of the law and the termination of the right to a stamp; content of rights and termination of design right; protection of industrial property rights; copyright work – types and conditions of protection; author, co-author, copyright holder; moral rights of the author; author contracts; rights of interpreters; protection of copyright and related rights.
Teaching methods and material mastering
Lectures, exercises, consultations, written examinations (colloquiums) individual student work (seminar and homework, papers, etc.), as well as group participation of students in the study of certain thematic units.
