Objectives of the course
The aim is to provide students with an overview of judicial institutions in Europe, understand the procedure and way of exercising rights and protect the rights of individuals, and adopt the ability to solve legal problems.
Gaining knowledge useful for the proper interpretation and application of norms and procedures contained in European judicial instruments and judicial bodies of Europe.
Content of the subject
Establishment and development of the European Union. Basic institutions of the European Union. Interinstitutional relations and the functioning of institutions. Possible directions for further development. Judicial organization of the European Union. Structure, organization and procedures of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Structure, work and procedures of the First Instance Court. Cooperation between the Court of Justice and the national courts. A lawsuit for violation of EU law by a Member State. Protection from the institution’s proceedings. Special forms of procedure before the Court of Justice of the European Union. Other judicial institutions of the European Union. European Court of Human Rights. Procedure before the European Court of Human Rights. Cases before the European Court of Human Rights relating to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
